Education

Objectives
Education is an integrated part of the programming at Lund Konsthall, and it is planned together with the exhibitions. Lund Konsthall endeavours to make visitors feel welcome, to make them interested and curious. We address the general public, and work specifically to attract new groups of visitors and shape our future audience.

Interpretation and Communication
Our exhibition hosts offer visitors personal guidance. Information about the current exhibition is always available, in both Swedish and English, in a free-distribution booklet. Additional literature about the participating artists is also available. For some exhibitions Lund Konsthall publishes more comprehensive catalogues. We offer a free electronic newsletter that can be ordered on our website.

Events
Artists’ talks are often organised in connection with exhibition openings, to give the audience an opportunity to encounter the exhibiting artists and their thinking. On Thursday evenings there are often lectures, talks and discussions on various topics related to the exhibitions. These events are announced separately.

Public Talks
Every Thursday and Sunday at 3 pm public talks are held in the exhibition, at no cost for visitors. On Fridays there is a brief lunch talk at 12.15–12.30. Talks can also be booked for special groups, against a fee.

Talks for Schools and Kindergartens
Groups from the schools and kindergartens in the City of Lund are offered talks free of charge in connection with every exhibition. This offer also applies for some adult students in Lund.
We approach these groups with special mailings, where we inform about exhibitions and other events and offer special introductory talks for teachers at the beginning of each exhibition period.
In addition, we offer talks, against a fee, to groups from other municipalities.
The pedagogues at Lund Konsthall are happy to do collaborative projects with schools in connection with our exhibitions.
Those teachers who wish to receive information may send their email addresses to elisabet.carlstrom@lund.se

Bookings
To receive information and book talks, please contact Elisabet Carlström, Curator of Education, tel. +46 46 355290, email: elisabet.carlstrom@lund.se
